18 Minute Strong Leg Challenge
This workout is totally different than anything I have ever done with you girls, I cant wait for you to try this workout that challenges you physically, and mentally.
What you will need:
- Set of heavy weights. This workout is the perfect time to break out those heavy weights you’ve been to nervous to try in the past!
Warm-Up:
- 4 minutes of various moves to get those lets warm and ready for this challenge
Workout:we are setting the timer for 15 minutes, every minute on the minute we will be performing 5 deadlifts and 5 front squats. That’s it! Believe me, its not as easy as it sounds
- Deadlifts – Keep your weight in your heels and have a soft bend in your knees, push your bum back as you bring the weights from your hips, past your thighs, until you feel that pull in your hamstrings. Return to standing position. not
- Front Squat – we are going into a classic squat here, but with a big heavy weight to add in some extra resistance. Toes forward, weight in heels, shoulders pulled back
Cool Down/Stretching
Complete 5-10 minutes of nice gentle stretching.
Make today Badass,
Kaylie
Loved the weights!!! Thanks Kaylie❤️
Can you just tell me mayyybe why I didn’t feel it a lot right away in my glutes?? (The dead lifts)
I felt it quite a bit (not to the point of being hurt!!) in my lower back
THANK YOU!!
make sure you really tighten that core to help protect the low back, deadlifts you typically done feel too much in the gluten whi;le you do them, but tomorrow on even 2 days later you will feel it ;) keep me posted
I have the same issue felt it more in my back during the deadlifts kept trying with and without weights but I found it hard to get the glute burn. I’m going to feel it in my legs for sure though!!! Thank you!!!
just give it a day, deadlifts are fairly painless in the glutes when performed,,.. but boy oh boy do you feel the hamstrings the next day
I really liked that, I was using 2 20lbs dumbbells. Had to go down to just one weight a few times as my arms were getting tired but I loved that burn and still got a sweat going. Thanks, Kaylie think I’m going to be in good pain tmrw!!
Oh look at you lifting heavy like a rock star, LOVE IT
The variety was nice :) Used 20 lb dumb bells which I’ve never done before. Had to dig into my husbands weight stash so feeling pretty strong AF!
I totally loved that one! Anything that works my legs/bum I love! I will definitely keep this one to add to other workouts or when I need to feel strong legs/bum. Thanks Kaylie!
YES!!!!! thats exactly how I wanted you ladies to feel, thats amazing !
Already feeling it in my legs! I found the repetition a bit boring, but I liked that it was quick and burned out the legs. I love that you are always mixing it up and keeping it interesting for us. Thanks, Kaylie!
Friggin awesome! I used a 20 pound dumbell the whole time and am sweating a lot now that we’re done….it was a cool routine because the burn crept up slowly lol….thank you!!
I agree, it totally does!! Great job lady!
all done :o)
Oh yeah you are!! Woohoo!
It was a nice change up, I liked that I could vary my leg position for the squats for variety and I added in a row for the deadlifts sometimes too – I’m sweaty and my back is a bit sore but I’m interested to see how my legs feel tomorrow and the next day!
That was tough! Nice change of pace & good to have variety! I was sweaty! Did Ashley’s 18 min HIIT bonus before this lol. Thanks Kaylie
Ps. What Fitbit do you have?
I like change! Thanks for making me sweat even more on this unbelievably sweaty day! Hard to get motivated to get upstairs and workout after being outside and busy all day but I did it!
Done. Used my 21 lbs dumbbells and managed to keep it up. Sweatier than I thought I’d be.
Wow that is strong!! Way to go lady.
