One of my all-time favourite workouts, DECK OF CARDS! This workout is a little different than you are used too. We are focusing on strength by only using your body weight. This workout was tough but awesome. I hope you love it as much as I did.

Warm-Up:

  • Quick Drop Set – 30 jumping jacks 5 burpees,20 jacks 5 burpees, 10 jacks 5 burpees.

Workout:

  • We will be repping our way through each of the 4 moves listed below. I will explain further in the video! Each suit represents one specific move, so for example, if you pull a 6 of hearts, than you will perform 6 reps of the squat / lunch combo. Each face card = 10 reps and Ace = 11. Everything else is face value

Your Moves

  • Hearts : Squat Lunge Combo – Perform a classic squat, followed by a lunge with your right leg and a lunge with your left. You can choose between forward or back lunges. 1 full set = 1 rep
  • Clubs : Plank to Down Dog – In a plank position with your shoulders, elbows and wrists in alignment, slowly lift your hips towards the sky, while driving down through your heels. This move is focusing on your core and shoulders.
  • Diamonds: Side Lunge – With this move you are going to do the same thing on both legs. So if I pull a 10, we will complete 10 reps / leg. Come into a deep side lunge and return to starting position by pushing through your foot and almost popping yourself back up to starting position.
  • Spades: Walkout to Plank to Superman – Ok this move is next level and works your ENTIRE BODY. Start in a standing position, walk yourself out into a plank position. From there slowly lower all the way down to the floor. Stretch your arms out in front of you and lift your arms, legs and chest up off the floor. Lower back down, push yourself back up to plank and using your hands walk yourself back up to a standing position.

Cool down/Stretching:

  • Complete 5-10 minutes of nice gentle stretching.
