If you want a healthy way to have a classic and comforting meal, this is an amazing option right here: A healthy grilled cheese and tomato soup express…
To me a healthy grilled cheese means that I don’t feel bloated and gross after. That means I need to monitor the kind and amount of cheese I have, as well as the kind of bread I make the sandwich with. Here’s how I make it healthy:
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of Ezekiel bread (unless you have celiac, this bread will not bloat you, and will in fact help you lose weight if you’re a bread lover because it is void of all the preservatives and yucky ingredients that’s found in most common ‘healthy breads’. Sprouted grain bread is where it’s at!
- 1 tbsp. of coconut oil spread over the bread
- Enough marble goat cheese OR goat’s feta cheese to cover the sandwich
- Thinly sliced apple or pickles for inside
Instructions:
- Cook this beauty like you would a regular grilled cheese, but be careful flipping the sandwich if you’re using feta cheese :)
If you’re looking for a healthy tomato soup, DO NOT GET CAMPBELL’S SOUP! It has high fructose corn syrup and wheat flour that are toxic to your body and encourage weight gain…not loss. Grab Costco’s organic tomato basil soup, or Amy’s organic tomato soup instead. They may not be as good as homemade, but they’re pretty damn close. Especially compared to the popular Campbell’s.
Enjoy!
