I am your realistic holistic nutritionist.
I may be a holistic hippy now, but rewind 10 years and my diet and lifestyle was quite different.
I opted for anything that said low calorie, low fat, and low carb.
I chose chemical filled low calorie salad dressings over healthy fats like olive and avocado oil because I was afraid of the calories. I chose diet coke and crystal light as my drink of choice, and you can bet I bought the low calorie cream cheese to spread over my weight watchers bagel.
I worked out as a form of punishment if I ate something deemed “junk” food
I didn’t work out as a celebration of my body and what it can do, instead I worked out because I felt if I wasn’t fit, I wasn’t worthy. At times I was working out up to 3 hours a day, and I still wasn’t satisfied with my appearance.
Fortunately, 10 years later all that ‘diet’ food is out of my system, and I now understand the importance of healthy fats, carbohydrates and eating REAL food. I work out now to be strong both mentally and physically, and over a year ago I threw away my scale and never looked back!
My mission is to teach women that they can break up with dieting, and have lasting results that leave them feeling satisfied and never deprived. I want to teach women that eating clean does not equal boring, and no, you don’t have to live off salads and kale smoothies. I want to teach women to fall in love with food again, to let go of the obsession with the scale and to finally celebrate the beautiful body they are in.
